What is the VIP program?
VIP is a program for players whose physical or mental disabilities make
it difficult for them to successfully participate on mainstream teams.
How do I register my child to play VIP soccer?
You will need to fill out a registration form available online at
www.twinsburgsoccer.com. You may also contact Kathryn Dougherty at
kadougherty@neo.rr.com or 330-414-1902. Mail completed form to: VIP
Soccer; 10188 Dawnwood Ct.; Streetsboro, OH 44241.
How much does it cost to play VIP soccer?
The cost is $25 per player, thanks to corporate sponsorship, donations
and fundraising. Please make checks payable to AYSO #1026.
What equipment does my child need?
Each player needs to have a soccer ball, shin guards, and soccer shoes
without a toe cleat. Gym shoes are acceptable. A soccer uniform will be
provided and is included in the registration fee.
How long is the VIP season and when are the practices / games?
The VIP season lasts for 8 weeks beginning in late August. The practices
/ games are held back to back for one hour total on Saturday mornings. A
schedule with dates and times will be available in August.
What are the practices / games like?
The practices / games are held back to back for a total of one hour. We
begin with a warm-up, then practice and drills, and finish with a game.
The coaches will act as the referees and stay on the field at all times.
VIP does not keep score.
Do I have to stay for the practice / game?
Yes, a parent or parent designee must be present for each player at
every practice / game.
What is a Buddy?
Every VIP player will be assigned a Buddy. A Buddy is a non-disabled
peer volunteer who helps guide the VIP player on the field. This may be
through verbal prompts, physical assists if needed, and lots of
encouragement and praise!
How can I become a Buddy?
If you are between the ages of 10 and 18 and would like to volunteer as
a Buddy for the VIP program, please contact Stephen Stoycos at

Can I get credit for community service hours for being a Buddy?
Yes, you can receive community service credit. Please bring your school
form to each session to be filled out.
Can I help coach my child’s team?
